A, B, C- micro terra 'A, B, C- micro terra' Aquaponic, Bio-intensive, Carbon Negative; Micro environment farm.
|
With the ABC- micro terra system Sapphire Cooperative is designing urban lot human ecologies that are micro environment farms which mimic the relationships found in natural biomes ! It is a sustainable organic aquaponic gardens and a bio intensive micro farm as a sort of living machine.. modeling the farm as an organism.

Sapphire Cooperative developed the ABC- Micro Terra; an aquaponic system with recycled icp tanks. Since then the founders have started designing organic hydroponic systems. This merger of hydroponics, aquaponics plus worms, worm teas and algae takes the ABC- Micro Terra to a new level. From education to intensive food production, the idea is to provide both educational and small farm systems with the ABC- Micro Terra. The ABC- Micro Terra tables and tanks are innovations that allow for integrations of natural ecosystems to take food production off the grid. From carbon waste to algae and worm teas we get to the bottom of the food chain, providing everything needed to feed fish and nourish plants without store bought resources.

This provides an integrated biological systems approach combining fish and poultry raising with the production of organic vegetables. Further, this system produces top quality soils as a by product and reduces the carbon in the atmosphere. Technology to capture and use methane from biomass can thus yield a double benefit, preventing release into the atmosphere and cutting fossil fuel emissions. Biogas is not only clean and efficient, but the digested waste left after its production can itself be recycled as a natural fertilizer. Further the ABC- micro terra incorporates the production of bio-diesel from algae.. 'By sequestrating Green House Gases by means of photosynthesis the Green Vegetation results in the formation of Green Treasure, addressing environmental and economic problems by giving sustainable food, energy, herbs, clean air, and soil. ABC- micro terra' recycles organic wastes and by products into sustainable support for future generations..
The goals of the Sapphire Cooperative working group are to:

Sapphire Cooperative sees publishing as an inherently collaborative enterprise connecting authors, nonprofit publishers, academic institutions, research and research libraries in the common goal of maximizing access to critical research. Sapphire Cooperative offers aquaponics news, events, species profiles, photos, art and other information. Businesses or organizations that are relevant to aquaponics and small scale permaculture are encouraged to send us your news, events and press releases.
Adapted from Terra preta and Terraforming
Terra preta (literally “black earth” in Portuguese) is a
type of very dark, fertile anthropogenic soil found in the Amazon Basin.
Terraforming (literally, "Earth-shaping") of a planet, is the process
of deliberately modifying its ecology in order to make it habitable by
terrestrial organisms.
Terra was a goddess personifying the Earth in Roman mythology. The name
Terra Mater means "Mother Earth". Terra's Greek counterpart is Gaia.
"What chemistry!"
